1,000,000 bottles a month within ten days
INEOS is to start producing one million standard and “pocket bottle” hand sanitisers a month in ten days. They will supply NHS hospitals free of charge for the period of the crisis with the public being able to purchase bottles through retailers. The company is already in talks with European retailers.

Meeting the need
INEOS is Europe’s largest producer of the two key raw materials needed for hospital grade hand sanitiser. Their sites in Grangemouth, Scotland and northern Germany produce nearly 1 million tonnes annually. But this is not enough. To meet the shortfall, INEOS will build a new UK factory within 10 days and replicate this in Germany.
